Regional Sales Manager

Job Purpose

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for managing clients within the assigned region to maximize sales growth and increase representation for the brands they represent.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Profitably grow assigned region to meet or exceed regional sales goals and targets

  • Provide retailer support in the areas of profitability, agreement comprehension & compliance, feedback on current sales trends, and strategic business planning

  • Effectively communicate various brand, marketing and advertising programs

  • Assist with staff training, advertising campaigns, in-store product layout, brand merchandising, and other business enhancements

  • Manage regional training for retailers: identifying various training needs, determining best location for optimal attendance, and facilitating the training sessions to participants

  • Plan seminar events, prepare retail product orders, and provide needed assistance at events

  • Attend industry shows and events for optimal product exposure

  • Maintain regional expense and promotional budgets

  • Assist in collection of accounts receivable

  • Report market trends, competitive information, and sales/product opportunities

  • Provide sound business proposals to meet or exceed current competitor activity

  • Complete administrative functions such as: monthly newsletter, monthly retailer paperwork, correspondence, schedules, itineraries, call reports, etc.

  • Other projects, as needed

  • Approximately 50% travel


    Qualifications / Education / Experience

  • Advanced communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills
  • Strong consumer sales management experience (presenting, selling, management, reporting)
  • Strong persuasive skills with the ability to positively influence and motivate others
  • Advanced sewing knowledge / skills preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or equivalent CRM software
  • Bachelor’s Degree or 5-years trade experience


Working Conditions

Working conditions for this position will vary between retail locations, seminars/exhibits, office environments, and other public events that will often be loud, busy and distracting

Physical Requirements

This role requires the employee to stand, walk for extended periods; other requirements including kneeling, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., using hands and fingers to manipulate various machines
