Master Data Analyst

Job purpose

The Master Data Analyst will be responsible for master data entries and changes in company systems, maintaining and creating data integrity, and communicating changes to key stake holders. They will define and improve upon master data creation and maintenance processes. This will ensure a consolidated point of contact and entry for data in all systems, as well as promote the accuracy, consistency and efficiency. This position will support operations by monitoring and analyzing master data and master data relationships within the organization. The Master Data Analyst owns the integrity of our Vendor, Customer, and Item Set Up from product inception through liquidation by coordinating the departments that own the data elements, validating the data in our various systems, documenting process and training new hires. A high systems acumen, personal organization and attention to detail are key in this role.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Master data Analyst acts as guardian / gatekeeper of master data to ensure compliance with the master data template, to maintain consistency and alignment as changes occur.
  • Assists in data management, governance, and data quality of master data requirements with other functional data owners to ensure master data integrity across systems is consistent and meets stated business rules and requirements established by the executive leadership team.
  • Change process owner, acts as champion for change requests, orders, notices and implementation.
  • Identifies areas for data quality improvements and helps to resolve data quality issues.
  • Analyzes and resolves data initiative issues to best meet internal and customer requirements while adhering to published data standards.

  • Participate in data cleansing efforts to rid the system of old, unused, inaccurate or duplicative data.
  • Key contact for the project development team during the launch phase of a new product by updating the item master following the development of the product.
  • Publish monthly reporting for internal team to show the accuracy of the data and process adherence.
  • Create and maintain proper documentation methodology.
  • Verify and maintain data to support Supply Chain initiatives and actions.
  • Work closely with the business units and IT to ensure alignment of master data rules and operational processes.
  • Take initiative to develop and improve procedures and processes.
  • Assists with communication and training of business data stewards and Master Data teams on master data standards, definitions, processes and data governance tools

 

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • Education
    • High School Diploma 
  • Specific knowledge & skills
    • Advanced in Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Experience with ERP system in a manufacturing and distribution environment
    • Knowledge of MRP software
    • Must demonstrate a clear understanding of the cross functional master data relationships
  • Other characteristics such as personal characteristics
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to work in both an independent and team environment.
  • Experience
    • 1-2 years of experience in database management or data entry in ERP environment.
